Wuhan is the political, economic, financial, cultural, educational and transportation center of central China and obviously boasts the largest population in the area. The city is often referred to as the Chicago of China, due it is connectivity with the rest of the country and in Chinese it is referred to as the nine province thoroughfare. Calling Wuhan as the heart of China’s economy and geography, because it has the same distance with Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an and other big cities in China, is around 1000 kilometers. Wuhan is the birthplace of Chu culture.

Climates: Rainy, humid, long daytime, hot in summer and cold in winter are the features of Wuhan. The summer is extreme long here for a temperate zone city, it is 135 days. The hottest time in summer the temperature could be 37-39 degree Celsius(98.6-102.2 Fahrenheit).

History: the first people had lived here is 6,000 years ago, the Neolithic Period. It was started governed in West Han Dynasty and was named Xiakou in East Dynasty. In 223, Sun Quan ordered people to build a watchtower, Huanghelou. In Nan Dynasty, Xiakou was changed into Yingzhou. Till Sui Dynasty, Xia County and Hanyang County were ordered to be the the legacy of Wuchang and Hanyang. Until Qing Dynasty, it was opened by Britain, Hankou became the trade harbor, and this place had suffered lots of revolutions since that time. In 1949, Hankou was released, Wuchang, Hanyang and Hankou were combined into Wuhan.

Attractions: Because Wuhan has long history, and as a southern city, the cuisine and sites here are very famous. You could hang on the Yangtze River Bridge, Ease Lake, and Zhongshan Park. If you enjoy shopping, then you must go Jianghan Road, and Hanzheng Road. Hubuxiang is a place where you can find the delicious snakes, in case you cannot bare with that, the food is very hot and spicy. The Provincial Museum and Honglou are the best place to know the history of Wuhan. University here is also a good place to have a look, in March and April, you can watch sakula in Wuhan University.

The airport is Wuhan Tianhe International Airport
The subway has 5 lines. The ticket price is 2 yuan for 9 kilometers, 3 yuan for 9-14 kilometers, plus 1 yuan for another 2 kilometers(longer than 14 kilometers).

Train station: there are 3 train stations, which are Wuchang Station, Hankou Station, and Wuhan Station.

Bus: The ticket price is 2 yuan for the special-line bus, 1.5 yuan for double bus without AC, 1 yuan for the normal bus.
